hmm....the hollies are almost over...this sux! felt like it was just a few days oni....but managed to go to 2 big queensland touristy places over the past week...went to surfers paradise (on the gold coast) and Dreamworld...
SURFERS as the locals call it is just one of those nice beach places...it was so hot and bright there...i had to hide under my umbrella....and i need to remember to get sunnies when i go back to msia coz i need prescription ones..but the water was nice- aqua and clean and cold, though i didnt swim i just sleep on the sand like a sand bum...hahhahaa..quite relaxing..but the wind didnt really have a nice salty fishy smell...spent abt 2 hrs there...a lot of surf clothes and souvenir shops there, and the largest indoor arcade in australia or sthing like that...but i wouldnt go all the way there (it was an hr by train from the city) just to go to the arcade...saw a couple of people sunbathing nude on the way back ...not sure if that is legal...i dun think it was a nude beach...
DREAMWORLD was also near the gold coast, its a theme park....verry big and it costs so much to enter - $60...=( but its one of the special things here i guess...it has the tallest fastest free fall ride in d world....they call it the "big drop"...its like a more thrilling solero space shot in genting...and there was "the tower of terror" where u get shot up a steep curved tower at almost 160 mph but it didnt feel very fast but it was a good feeling..the "Cyclone" rollercoaster was one of my favs..it was realli stress on the body ...extremely unusual forces...my neck and back felt sore the next day...serious!one of t he relaxing (yes, relaxing!) rides was the Vortex, where they spin u around in a UFO kind of thing but the cool thing is ur feet lift of the ground temporarily so u feel like ur in space for awhile...besides the rides there were other worlds....eg. Wiggles World for kids, and Nickelodeon world where the rides were based on the characters in those shows like Spongebob Squarepants..Nick world was realli pretty ...bright colours n all that....didnt get to see all of Dreamworld but went to most of the good rides..so it wasnt too bad...=))though one bad thing was that half the day was spent just waiting to go on the rides..had to wait almost an hr to go for the "big drop" couldnt say it was worth it...it was a 4 sec drop down 39 storeys...so i waited 900 times longer than the 4 second thrill ....ergh.
