went to the
Ekka on Saturday, i actually have no idea what "ekka" means but it is the
Royal Brisbane Show or sum ppl refer to it as simply the
Exhibition. haha for more info please refer to
www.ekka.com.au anyway its basically a
fun fair thingy, with lotsa farm
animals u can touch n smell, with cooking demos, food stalls, show bags to waste ur money on and this year they introduced a fashion show. Historically (yawn!) i think it used to be some
agricultural show where farmers etc. from the country bring their wares to the city. Another more reality-based and cynical interpretation, is that is 2 weeks of carnival for people to make
money and the govt to make
money from tax and have a relaxing time with the family, which is questionable as the little kids pester thier parents for more and more overpriced and undervalued showbags.
Showbags are basically like "hampers" filled with toys and confectionary. Here are some pics, its not cheap to have fun at the ekka, entrance already burns a $14 hole in ur pocket. For me, I thought it was worth the money but i won't go next year. It's gonna be the same anyway. The catwalk show was quite posh and special, my first time watching one real
fashion show...all the models had such nice bodies until they look too similar if u get what i mean..

The pig is brown cuz it was either a genetically experiment gone wrong or either they use some old fashioned brown paint on the poor pig...WHAT? $10 to cuddle a lamb and take a photo? I rather spend it on EATING the lamb =P goat wearing a hawaiian shirt? Probably it was drunk or modelling for a well-known fashion designing company who had picked the "wrong" model =P

showbags are overrated, but i still adore them..ohh the wonders of novelties!!

i totally love the rides at the show, especially when im with ccowward chicken shit friends...next best thing after genting hey? the games were fun too! i won big big kermit! :P
